Adventure photo tour Azores
An adventure photo tour on the Evergreen home of the Azores high is a dream destination not only for hikers, but also for nature lovers and photographers
Around 1500 kilometers west of the Portuguese capital Lisbon, nine green volcanic islands rise from the depths of the blue Atlantic. They belong to the Macaronesian archipelago, which includes the Azores, Madeira, Salvagem, Canaries and Cape Verde archipelagos. All of them are of volcanic origin. Diversity on nine islands, wide horizons all around and particularly deep insights into the nature of a remote volcanic archipelago in the middle of an ocean.

The Azores - who doesn't know them from the weather report? The evergreen home of the Azores high is a dream destination, regardless of whether you are interested in hiking, photography, geology, geography, botany or the general enjoyment of nature. Our excursion takes you to the five islands of Sao Miguel, Faial, Terceira, Pico and Flores - the western end of Europe. By the way: National Geographic named the Azores one of the most beautiful archipelagos in the world.

Sao Miguel: The largest island of the archipelago impresses with its enormous scenic, geological and botanical diversity, geothermal springs and overwhelming views of the deep blue Atlantic.
Flores: The small, lonely island in the far west is an almost lost world in itself. With dense vegetation, water-filled explosion craters and magnificent coasts, Flores is an insider tip - far from the more famous islands.

Faial: The fifth largest island in the archipelago gives us an insight into current volcanism. The grandiose crater circuit of the Caldeira shows us the vegetation of the high steps in the middle of the Atlantic. The tranquil main town of Horta is the place to go for those sailing across the Atlantic.

Terceira: The island was discovered as the third island and that's how it got its name - the third. Terceira is covered with lush vegetation, countless large calderas, many small craters, dunnage and lava caves worth seeing - a special treat at the end of the adventure photo tour.

Pico: From Faial we have the option of a day trip to the island of Pico to explore it more closely. The highest and youngest volcano is located on Pico with a height of 2351 meters, which also gave the island its name.
